Watch our stories!

Meet the faces, dogs and our partners at Dog Rescue Newcastle.

Shelter Sunday Fun Day.

On a recent sunny spring Sunday (12 October), our shelter activities had a slightly different purpose. We used our beautiful yard to play host to the incredible photographer, Jo Lyons in order to get some new photos of our longest term dogs.

All the dogs featured in this video have been in care with Dog Rescue Newcastle for over 3 months, and we are so ready for them to find their forever homes. Our big dogs tend to stick around for longer, and sometimes dogs with lots of energy, selective hearing, or dark colouring can be especially hard to get good photos of.

Jo’s experience shines through in all of her photoshoots and we cannot wait to see the results.

Thank you Jo!

Volunteer Life.

Without our volunteers, Dog Rescue Newcastle simply could not do what we do. Volunteers are the life saving heros who keep our organisation running.

Whether you can spare just one hour a week or more, every moment makes a difference. The impact you have on these beautiful rescue dogs is life-changing - for them and for you!

We are always ready to welcome new volunteers. To express your interest in becoming a DRN volunteer, click here

Together we can make a difference.

Adopt don’t shop.

Before you shop for that puppy in the window for Christmas, have a think about the thousands of loving dogs in pounds, shelters and rescues across Australia.

Together, we can make a difference.

2024 Recap.

It was a MASSIVE 2024 for the Dog Rescue Newcastle Shelter!

Many of the faces featured in our 2024 recap are just some of the dogs who found their forever families and homes.

We couldn’t have done it without your support!
