Lulu
It was obvious when 18 month old Lulu was surrendered that something wasn’t quite right with her back legs. She lacked strength and her back legs were wobbly when she moved. DRN jumped into action with a vet visit to rule out any breaks and check she wasn’t in pain. Lulu moved into foster care with 4 other dachshunds into a home set up with ramps to aid her mobility.
A specialist vet visit diagnosed a neurological issue in her spine, that is likely to stay with her throughout her life. Luckily her foster family found ways to manage her needs. Lulu hasn’t let her limitations affect her life or ability to love, play, chase possums or chew toys. She loves walks and always strives to keep up with her foster siblings. Snuggled up in a lap is her favourite place to be, lulus love knows no bounds.
At the calendar photo shoot her initial nerves faded when she realised there were treats involved. Jo’s patience and kindness, and her trusty photographer’s bag of tricks mmm, squeaks and sounds helped Lulu relax and show her sweet side.
Lulu is still looking for a special forever family who will love her and manage her special needs.
